Women in STEM careers panel, Frensham School
On September 26th 2018, Tara took part in Lauren Sullivan's online "Ask a steminist..." Women in STEM careers panel. This panel gave students at Frensham School in Mittagong the opportunity to engage with a variety of STEM professionals and ask questions about STEM careers, study and research. These opportunities are rare for young girls in rural schools and this was an excellent example of the #YouCantBeWhatYouCantSee and #SheCanStem online movements!

Women in Science Symposium 2018
On March 23rd 2018, Science 50:50 and UNSW Science teamed up with the Australian National Maritime Museum to host the Women in Science Symposium.
Science 50:50 makes the simple point: "if half the population is female, why aren't half the scientists and technologists?" This event aimed to encourage high school girls to look beyond the lab coats and to see the career possibilities in science through introducing them to young, Australian scientists and innovators who just happen to be women.
